What happens when the investment is a business? And the business is paying down the business loan, does this method still work by having the business pay interest only and then offset those payments against tax, or is that counter intuitive?

so if you redraw on your home Luan to build a granny flat . it increases the the Loan but its just add on same interest . principle and interest . If I rent out the granny flat still get the tax deduction. ? how would you set it up ?
