there was a video of a black woman in Milan that was feeding the pigeons and she got approached by the police. the American comments were saying that the Italian police were being racists and so on but the reality of that interaction is that it's illegal to feed pigeons in big cities

Went to America for the first time in 2016, more than one person asked to see my stab wounds, the first time someone asked I laughed. Apparently they were told 50% of the people in the UK have been stabbed at least once in their lives, same time per capita there are more stabbing in America.

It does kinda go the other way too, I know some Americans who have put Europe on a pedestal. I remember talking to one guy who was so disappointed when I said inner city Dublin has a drug issue, and sometimes you can see it in broad daylight. He was so deflated as he seemed to think Europe was some kind of perfect utopia.

I remember when the first Rambo movie came out. Sylvester Stallone was seen as the world’s most macho man. And he wouldn’t come to the UK to promote the movie because he thought it was too dangerous.

Portugal The Place :
I’m an American that lives in Portugal. We’ve been here for six years and it’s incredible to see how uninformed people are in the states. We get asked if we can drink the water, if we have internet. In this day and age it’s unreal that this still happens.

It's also often comparing the best of the US with the average in Europe. They'll say they have the best medical care or the best universities, and while that may be true, it's only true for a very small part of US citizens. But if you look at average available healthcare and average available schooling, Europe will probably come out way better.

Its a lot to do with propaganda being fed to everyone. We have people in the UK trying to convince us that we should be afraid of x,y and z Believe what you see, not what you hear. Hope your daughter is feeling better today 💕

I’m and American living in the UK. When I first started traveling abroad, someone in my family would always say “Be careful, it’s so dangerous!” It literally took me .5 seconds of stepping foot in another country to realize America was lying to me about how great I had it there. Now that I live in the UK, there are so many basic things I cherish doing and cannot take for granted. Things as simple as walking or running on my own, being able to feel safe in a crowded shopping center, not being afraid if a stranger walks up to me to ask what time it is, not checking people’s hips for weapons…I even have to practice not walking behind my family or friends’ kids so no one will take them 😭 America trying to play it like everything is worse “on the outside” is something I cannot forgive, because having to unlearn those fears is the worst.

People from the U.S. don’t realise just how much American media & propaganda is forced out onto the rest of the world & how little is let back in. So, the rest of the world know a lot about the U.S. but most Americans know very little about the rest of the world. Hence, a lot of people from the U.S. thinking the rest of the world is obsessed with them/the U.S. is the best nation ever & centre of the universe/American exceptionalism.

When I was 16 some people in my class got to go for a week to the US on an exchange with a NJ school. When my friends came back some of them told me they had been non-ironically asked by the American students if they knew of the following things or if we had them in France: the internet (mind you they had email conversations before the trips), running water, hair straighteners, toilets that are not in the garden, 24/7 news channels, burgers in general and McDonald's in particular, Facebook, English classes and microwaves

Ehhhhhh, as a Black Brit racism is bad in Spain. It may be different but it’s still bad. My 6th form went on a trip to Spain and soooo many of the black female students were accosted & propositioned.

Hi, Denmark here… we in the North all hope that Trump is stopped, and we also understand that not all americans support Trump in his attemp to Annex part of our Kingdom (Greenland) … Denmark and USA have been allied for decades - we have lost more soldiers that any other country (by Capita) supporting USA… but this - this is not the behaviour of an allied - but an enemy. If USA invades any part of Denmark, which is a part of NATO, article 4 Will be triggered. Clarification: No Russian nor Chinese ships has EVER been seen in Greenland - this is simply put a Lie to mislead the American public. Martin
