Going Grey? You Have To Compromise, Break Your Rules And Be Patient! 🤍 If there’s one thing I always tell my clients who want to embrace their natural silver hair, it’s this: You have to compromise, break some of your own rules and, most importantly, be patient if you want to be rewarded. Especially when you have 70% or more grey hair. At this stage, there’s no magical solution that allows you to stop coloring, avoid the transition and wake up with beautiful natural silver hair overnight. 1️⃣ You Basically Have Two Choices 🤍 🌿 Option One: Stop Coloring Completely Leave your hair alone, accept the old color on your lengths and allow your natural silver hair to gradually take over. Yes, you might have to live with two completely different colors for a year or two, sometimes longer, depending on your hair length and how much you’re willing to cut. It’s not always pretty, but it’s simple and doesn’t require additional chemical processing. ✨ Option Two: Prepare Your Hair For Grey Blending This is where we strategically lighten the old color, soften the harsh line between your natural grey roots and the previously colored hair, and create a transitional area. From there, you can either continue maintaining the grey blending color or gradually stop coloring and allow your natural silver hair to take over. The goal is to make the transition more manageable, not necessarily to keep coloring forever. 2️⃣ The Biggest Mistake Is Losing Patience Too Early ⏳ This is something I see all the time. Someone starts their grey hair journey, stays committed for a few weeks or months, then suddenly decides they can’t handle it anymore. So they color everything dark again. And guess what? You’re back to exactly the same struggle you were trying to escape! All that patience, preparation and progress, and now you have to start the transition all over again. 3️⃣ Give Yourself At Least 6 To 9 Months ❤️ Believe it or not, I don’t think most people can truly judge how they feel about their grey blending or natural silver transition after just a few weeks. You need time to see enough of your natural color growing through. You need time for the harsh contrast to soften. And you need time to get used to seeing yourself with a completely different hair color. In my experience, six to nine months is often the minimum before you can really begin appreciating the direction your hair is taking. That doesn’t mean your transition will be finished. It means you’ll finally start understanding what the result could become. 4️⃣ Why Is 60% Or More Grey So Challenging? 🚨 When your grey percentage is lower, there may still be ways to maintain some color without feeling that your silver roots are constantly taking over. But once you’re dealing with 60% to 80% or even 90% grey, things become much trickier. Your natural silver hair becomes the dominant color, and any solid color you apply can create a very noticeable regrowth line. That’s why constantly trying to hide it can become an exhausting cycle of coloring and root maintenance. 5️⃣ Sometimes You Have To Accept A Difficult Stage To Reach A Beautiful Result 🌿 You might need to compromise on your color. You might need to compromise on your haircut or length. And you might need to accept a few months where your hair doesn’t look exactly how you want it to. But remember why you’re doing it. You’re working towards a future where you no longer feel trapped by your roots every few weeks. And for many women who finally reach that stage, the freedom is worth the difficult transition. 🤍 My advice? Don’t judge your grey hair journey too early. Give it enough time before deciding whether it’s right for you. 💬 If you’ve already started your grey hair journey, what was the hardest part: the regrowth line, the change in your appearance or simply finding the patience to continue? #GreyHair #GrayHair #SilverHair #GreyHairJourney #GrayHairJourney
