September 28, 1997, a legend known as Deonte the Speaker was born with a condition called spastic cerebral palsy. This condition affects muscle tone and movement, and throughout my life I’ve faced challenges that many people never see. I’ve dealt with muscle spasms, seizures, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple surgeries, and some of the darkest moments of my journey. There were times when I questioned my purpose and wondered why I was facing so many obstacles. But over time, I realized that every challenge was shaping me into the person I am today. I truly believe I was given another opportunity in life for a reason, and for that I am grateful every single day. Many of you know that I have a fundraiser to build a handicap accessible home something I have needed my entire life. I never imagined I would be sharing my story this way, but sometimes the truth needs to be told. On February 28 of this year, my family and I had to leave my uncle property. The same home holds difficult memories because it was also where my mother experienced a medical emergency that led to her being diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Since sharing my journey, I’ve received criticism from some people who believe I should stay silent. But staying silent has never solved anything. If I don’t speak up, people won’t know what I’m facing or why this accessible home is so important. My goal is not sympathy it’s awareness, understanding, and hope. I refuse to give up on the future I’m working toward. Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, shared kind words, or simply taken the time to read my story. Your support means more than you know. We will keep moving forward, keep believing, and keep working toward this goal. God bless each and every one of you. ❤️ #SpasticCerebralPalsy #WheelchairLife #xyzbca #fyp
