@historytheworl: Part 3: Spike Strips End Police Pursuit but Her Problems Are Just Beginning: On June 7, 2025, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Deputy Abeyta observed a vehicle traveling with no lights on after dark. He attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Instead of stopping, the vehicle entered Interstate 25 and attempted to elude officers. Spike strips were laid down on the road, which caused several of the vehicle's tires to deflate and disintegrated. The vehicle finally came to a stop in the middle of the road. Deputies smashed the driver's side window and ordered the 34-year-old woman out of the vehicle. She refused to answer questions and did not wish to participate in field sobriety tests. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the Sheriff's station. She provided two breath samples and both registered 0.00% BAC.
