When I married my ex-husband, I made a lifetime commitment with my entire heart & soul. When I suggested counseling due to the lack of communication, anger, silent treatment, etc, he screamed "F you, I'm not going anywhere with you."

He refused treatment for his bipolar after I lived with it for 6 yrs. He would’ve killed me if I stayed any longer after he chose to be selfish cuz he didn’t want the label.

After 25 years it was like living with a roommate but I agree with you. He was detached and our marriage broke. I was too needy and resentful at the end. It’s a tragedy that we couldn’t repair our relationship but, in the end, we’re both happier.

Verbal, psychological, mental abuse. Alcohol abuse, phone hiding, deleted messages..so much more. Alone and healing - happiest I’ve ever been.

Emotional isolation and me having the full load. 2 daughters, sports, with full time professional job. He got up and went to work. Tried counseling for 10 years with no changes and when I said I was done that’s when he wanted to change. It was too late for me.

lol make sure u don't subject your wife to years of therapy before you want couples therapy bc i was tapped out by that point, it was like he couldn't prove on paper i was crazy so he caved
