I used to memorize all the Epic Rap Battles of History as an autistic child and I didn't realize how much of it was working backwards (or forwards) from the parts of the battles I remembered until I had the whole thing

I love this poem but had gaps in my memory before this! It’s amazing how memorizing a poem makes you appreciate each word choice more - I kept getting “frown, and wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command” in the wrong order until I realized how deliberately each item in the tricolon gathers momentum. Bravo!

I played in a community orchestra several years ago and the conductor backchained a piece that was particularly challenging. I figured out what he was doing and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

What I do is black out words I'm confident in. That helps preserve words like articles. And you read the whole poem over and black out what you know
