Why is everyone so pressed? A Portuguese egg tart is usually refererring to what is called po tat in Cantonese which translates to “Portuguese (egg) tart”. It is inspired by pastel de nata due to colonisation in Macao but it is actually different to a traditional pastel de nata. In reality it should be called a Macao egg tart but Portuguese egg tart stuck and it is still called this at dim sum restaurants
