The mustache is not how Thaedus proved he was a viltrumite to Alan, the toolook pull is how he proved it. The toolook pull is when a viltrumite pulls out their entire beard in one motion leaving only their mustache, Thaedus pulled out his real actual beard, it wasn’t fake facial hair. The mustache wasn’t the giveaway, it was the pull, incredibly minor spoiler but this is confirmed in the comic. Also Alan literally says all biclops look the same to him when he realizes Mark is a different guy

Easy misconception, it wasnt the mustache that made it possible for him to tell thaedus was a viltrumite, it was the beard rip. It wasnt a fake beard, apparently ripping your beard off is a viltrumite trick.

Alan never fought omniman previous to meeting mark. Omniman would’ve absolutely bodied first appearance Alan. Alan returned home and found out about omniman after realizing he went to earth by mistake.

If the planet I'm assessing is full of various super heroes in funny costumes and a viltrimite approaches me in a ridiculous get-up (not to mention he doesn't immediately kill me) and not his typical viltrimite garb, I'd be confused too.

My head Canon has always been Allen was only lucky to live because Nolan wasn't the one who saw him first. Allen didn't just come in swinging so if he was just vibing and then the government saw them floating and suddenly Omni-Man started throwing lethal hands it would have been suspicious.
