@elisempham: In high school, everyone told me that highlighting and rewriting my notes was “the most effective way to study” But I kept burning myself out spending hours “studying” only to forget them once I opened my exam. Once I got to Harvard, I was taught the Compression–Expansion Loop. It’s one of the most effective study methods that forces your brain to store and recall information with minimal time and effort. Here’s how it works 👇 1️⃣ Compression: After you study something, summarize it into 2–3 short sentences or one simple diagram. (Basically “zip” the info into its core idea.) 2️⃣ Expansion: A few hours or days later, try to rebuild the full explanation or process from memory (no notes or textbook) If you can expand it clearly, you actually understand it. If you can’t, you know exactly what to review. It’s how a lot of Harvard students handle insane amounts of material because trains their recall. 🧠 If you want a full breakdown of the BEST study systems I use to ace my Harvard classes, DM me STUDY to my Instagram @UltimateIvyLeagueGuide and I’ll send them to you! #UltimateIvyLeagueGuide #UltimateMentor #UILG
