honestly I was diagnosed with autism, but beforehand I didn't even think I was autistic and didn't relate to the symptoms because I didn't even realize they applied to me. I am high function so I didn't know that my behavior wasn't normal.

I thought you were going to finally convince me that I’m not autistic. This just solidified my assumption. I even brought up being screened to my psych provider and instead she prescribed me Abilify and said the wait list wasn’t worth it. Now I’m just scared to get screened because I live in the U.S. 🙃

As an autistic person, I’d like to inform unaware commenters that if you DO relate to autistic things that may not mean you are autistic. Autistic behaviors are human behaviors, just at a debilitating level. All humans stim, have some sensory issues, get overstimulated, experience social anxiety, etc. If you truly do think you are autistic, don’t let tiktok diagnose you. Do real research please. Tiktok autism has and continues to downplay what real autism looks like and it makes it so we get less accommodations and understanding.
