Love hotels are not for tourists. You tourists should use fancy touristy expensive services like hotels and restaurants. If you start invading services for locals, they become overly busy and prices go up. Don’t disturb local people.

this is seriously good advice. we stayed 3 weeks, the normal budget hotels were TINY, especially if you have two people, each with a suitcase. we stayed at 3 love hotels. one was like an American sized apartment, with a couch and jacuzzi tub and huge bed, so much room, it was cheap too. the other two will a little smaller than the first, but all were larger than the hotel. also message chairs

Love hotels smells like cigarette and its very dark. Cant recommend. I like Toyoko inn they have free breakfast and spacious rooms

Booked the Megurohoric hotel in Meguro city. Didn't know it was a love hotel until we got there. We saw the rate per hr posted at the entrance. That's usually a love hotel thing. It was an amazing hotel experience!!
