@kerryanncameron: Replying to @vivlizr0sie here’s an explanation from John Boy 😊 I do mouth along when I’m signing, but this is just a habit. It’s of no benefit to John Boy as he needs to feel my hands to understand what I’m signing. #deafblind #signlangauge #bsl #tactile
And yet, there are Helen Keller deniers out there....🤷🏼♀️

I really would wish sign language was at least optional at schools. 👌

I can’t get my head around how he knows what you’re signing like that - it’s so fast!

I can’t imagine having to prepare to lose your sight when you rely on it to communicate. This is fantastic. Some people (like John boy!) are truly incredible!

as a blind person, thank you so much for doing the voiceover over the sign. I really enjoy engaging with sign language content but obviously it can't be tactile over the internet! 😂

Thanks for educating us John Boy.. you're unbelievable man! I wish they taught us sign in school as much as they focus on other languages.

That’s incredible I really REALLY wish they’d teach sign language in schools, over modern languages even. It opens a world up for those who need it.

In the dictionary under 'resilience' is this man. I bet if he lost his hands he'd still be chipper and figure out how to do everything -"tis a flesh wound". What an absolute inspirational hero 🥰. Ted talk!

I noticed that a lot of the signs use two hands and was wondering when he is only touching one of your hands how he understands the signs. Is it easy to understand or is he using context clues to figure out what sign it is.

My grandmas friend was deaf and blind. Loved watching her communicate with everyone. She also did the same. Everyone signed in her hands like this. 🩷

I used to be a dental nurse, had a patient who was deaf blind and their daughter used hands on sign language. It was the most fascinating thing, absolutely amazing to witness. Sign language and hands on sign language should be broadly taught in schools.
