they were never 4 for $1. you are talking about the banquet brand. Marie Calenders pot pies were always $3 to $5 each. they also have a small & large size, and yes It was a well known restaurant in SoCal. Have you ever heard of Sizzler?

Marie Callender’s walked so the Cheesecake Factory could run. They had the best pies and the food was decent. It was high scale diner food but there was a time when it was kinda fancy.
