For years, my husband worked as a programmer while I grew my handmade polymer clay jewelry business, Tiny Hands. Some years were really hard, and there were plenty of moments when I wondered if this business would ever become something sustainable. Slowly, things started to change. More people found my work. Sales grew. Opportunities I never expected started showing up. Then in 2018, something really special happened. My handmade business had grown enough that my husband was able to leave his programming job and finally spend more time pursuing something he'd dreamed about for years: making video games. The next year, we decided to build something new together. We started a personalized print-on-demand art business with about $2,000 in startup costs. Our first year, it made around $11,000! Today, that same business generates seven figures annually, and my husband now runs it full-time. Looking back, I don't think the biggest win was the revenue. It was the freedom. The freedom to build businesses we love. The freedom to spend our time doing work that excites us. The freedom to create a life we never thought was possible. People sometimes think there was one big secret or one lucky break. There really wasn't. It was a series of small decisions, better strategies and learning the business side of selling handmade products. If you're curious about what those changes were, I break down the exact framework that changed everything for me in my free workshop. The link’s in my bio if you want to check it out!
