The Allis 185 was the first new and still the only new right off the dealer lot tractor dad ever bought. Still have it although it has been, much to my radical frustration, sitting in a state of disrepair for far too long. It on the short term plan to be brought back to her OG glory. Going to need a different tractor to put the Westendorf loader on 👌

They ran good, but the transmission was/is problematic with synchronizers and jumping out of gear. Great styling though.

Still got a 175 and we had a 190xt the 175 just runs and runs I swear and we kinda beat the hell out of it no brakes but that’s normal

Oh the stories our 185 could tell. My great granddad bought it used with 400 hours in about 1980. It’s a ‘79 model with the high bolster front end, 18.4-30/10.00-16 tires and hydraulic pto. It’s done everything from pull a 2 row chopper, 14’ disk, 12’ GP Nt drill, all the way down to a post digger and hay tedder. Super versatile tractor and judging by wear patterns, I’d say it has about 15,000 hours on it now

Have a 180 with a Dunham Lehr loader. Really handy tractor. Can't beat them for the price you pay for them compared to everything else that size.
