I hate bathroom gaps, you’re taking a dump while someone is standing and waiting there looking at you or or at the stall. Uncomfortable as well when it’s time to wipe.😅

Bathroom stalls are set up like that in order to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). That's literally the only reason.

Another thing about German bathrooms . . . Metal toilets in public bathrooms on the autobahn in the winter with no heat. My son was 2 years old and completely potty trained. Poor little man was traumatized. But, the bathrooms were always clean.
