And this is why I lock my damn card no matter what!! I’d rather be in line at the register unlocking it than have to deal with fraud charges if someone gets ahold of it!! Can’t use a locked card

So it was a jailer? Most jailers aren’t police. Either way that’s absolutely insane. They should have 100% taken a report, though many will refer them to the agency in the city in which they live because jurisdiction

The second I know any card is missing, I call and cancel it and report stolen. Most banks and credit card companies will reimburse the charges done just before you report it. And send you a totally different one. Crazy why someone would go through all this trouble. Unless this is AI and not even true.
