based on what i see here is my theory: this was a long run and both vee and astro ended in a high floor, during the past floors vee got injured and attacked to the leg which I blame her speed stat for, I would say that at some point Astro saved vee but took critical damage (technically at 0 heart/the broken ichor heart) and the next floor feels extremely tired, vee decides to watch out for astro but since he has lost both of his hearts he is...well dead, so few hours after vee uses her technology (idk) to check on astro vitals and she noticed those abnormal red dots that possibly hint of corruption of Astro, she knows that soon enough he will become a twisted so she decides to leave but say farewell to the last shreds of consciousness of the normal Astro that is "sleeping*
