people always says this movie glorifies cheating, they’ve never yearned. its not about cheating. its about going back to the only person you’ve ever truly connected with despite the imperfections. its about choosing love rather than a standard set by others. he came first, and she was led blindly by her mother who kept the fact that he tried to maintain their connection. all because her mom went through the same thing but didnt choose love, she settled and thought it was only right that her daughter settled too. once she seen him in the paper it didnt make sense to her, if he didnt love her why did he build the house she wanted, was her insinuated thought. so she went to find out herself before her wedding in case he still loved her. and because of the fact that he did build the house for her like he promised because he loved her and never stopped, and her mother confessed, she(allie) chose love. mind u this “affair” happened over the span of two days. she then broke it off with her fiancée because she made her decision based on the love she maintained while she was forced to settle. they loved eachother before and after, her parents didnt want it for her, so she found a guy they liked because she thought they were right abt noah not being the one for her due to him never reaching out. but she was proven right and took her leap. it doesnt glorify cheating because they both know its wrong, even her mother. but it glorifies choosing what feels right to you and not others when it comes to true love.
