@spartancollege: Ever watched a plane land and wondered what's happening in the cockpit during those final moments? ✈️ Pilots follow what's called a traffic pattern: a rectangular route around the runway that keeps everything safe and organized. They enter on the downwind leg, flying parallel to the runway about half a mile out. This is where they slow down, prepare the aircraft, and get into the right headspace. Then comes the base leg and final approach. Flaps are added to control speed and descent. Throttle adjustments manage how quickly they're coming down. Pitch controls keep the airspeed just right. And about 10 to 20 feet above the runway, there's this beautiful moment called the flare, where the pilot gently raises the nose to soften the touchdown. 🎯
