Hey how’s it going? Sorry to bother you. I have a 2005 ford excursion Eddie Bauer 6.0 with around 150,000ish miles on it, and one day I went to work at around 6:30am and the truck started perfectly fine, 3:00 came around and it was time for me to go home so like always I went and warmed up my truck and it started fine but it made some weird like thumping noise as soon as I drove off. Hopped on the freeway to head home and everything was fine until halfway home when I was going on a downhill and I noticed that my truck had died on me so I pulled over to get it to start again and it did so I kept on driving 10 minutes after it died again so I pulled over again and tried to restarted it and it wasn’t working so I removed the air filter indicator assembly and sprayed starter fluid on it and it started so I got back on the freeway and a few minutes later it died again so I called a tow truck and towed it to a transmission shop because that’s what I thought the issue was and spent over $3k on the service and I drove it home after and it died a few blocks from the transmission shop so I called the tow truck to tow it to my house and since then I haven’t been driving the car it’s just sitting there, I want to take it to my local diesel shop but they have scammed me before and many people as well I just like to know if I have an idea of what I could be to prevent myself from getting scammed. Any info helps thanks for your time
