On top of all that, throw in a HORRIBLE job market, crumbling economy, and some neurodivergence like ADHD and/or autism and uh... the outlook gets bleak, real fast. That's a lot to overcome while attempting to connect with another person.

I experience the exact opposite.. men who know they can’t afford me will pretend like they can and once they can no longer pretend they start trying to argue that my standards and expectations are too high or that I spend “frivolously” because they don’t have it … I wish they would leave me alone 😂

Yes. I have to take care of my adopted brother with special needs. It requires 24/7 care so it’s hard for me to make hardly any money. There have been women I’ve connected with but I didn’t pursue cos I can’t provide or do things in life she deserves so I just stay back. It sucks bc I want to love someone but it’s very hard to do in my situation

It’s not that we’re afraid of rejection; it’s that we already know the likely outcome. In many cases, I’d rather keep a crush in my orbit as a friend than risk losing her entirely. I’ve also been in situations where genuinely interested women made the first move, but because of my financial reality, I chose not to pursue it.
