@thebudgetmom: Welcome to my Budget by Paycheck Method series, where I break down every step in my method — the same one that’s helped thousands of people take back control of their money and finally create a budget that actually works in real life. Step Six: Prioritizing Your Savings Goals. You can save for multiple goals at once — you just have to be strategic about it. The key is to understand your priorities and how your money supports them. This is why this step is so important! Start by organizing your goals into time frames — short-term, medium-term, and long-term — and then prioritize each list. Your short-term goals are usually the most urgent: building your emergency fund, saving for time off of work, or coming up with a deposit for a new apartment. Focus most of your money toward your #1 short-term goal, since that’s where progress will make the biggest difference right now. Then, if you can, put a smaller amount toward your #2 priority — just enough to keep momentum without spreading yourself too thin. You’ll make real progress by being intentional — not by doing everything at once, but by focusing on what matters most today. Because when you build a strong financial foundation, you don’t just change your budget — you change your life.
