We don’t check it before very flight but we do check it semi often depending on the carriers gmm combined with the airframes gmm.

I live in Oxnard, and was returning from work from Northrop Grumman on the coast highway and heard on the radio a jet had crashed, at thecm time we didn't realize it was the Alaskan Airlines jet. At a park near the beach that commemorates the crash 14 miles offshore. The jackscrew failure caused the crash.
