@theceliacshift: Celiac Disease is not just about removing gluten from your diet… It is sitting next to your child during an iron infusion — wondering how long their body has been struggling to absorb what it needs. It is label reading, cross-contamination fears, and explaining the same thing again and again — to people who still do not get it.
The emotional struggle is real, and it goes far beyond the plate. I help parents go deeper — to advocate, find answers, and finally see what’s really going on with their children. Comment MORE for my go to tips on helping your child advocate and get the support they deserve. 💚

What were his symptoms before you found out he was celiac? Currently trying to cut gluten out of my daughter diet as she has horrible headaches and nothing helps her.

What’s frustrating for me is how the treatment is strictly dietary and it’s so expensive and there’s no assistance from ins….it’s such an emotional struggle. I also struggle with micro nutrient deficiencies. Mostly over the counter meds to supplement

I’ve been gluten free for years with celiac and now have hashimotos diagnosis. It is constant pain and fatigue and eventually just giving up on ever feeling good. Just got diagnosis for my 7 yr old and it’s very sad for me

This TikTok made me feel so understood. Nobody understands how celiac could be just as hard as other autoimmune diseases. They think it’s like the easiest one cause it’s just a diet, but it’s not just a diet. It takes over everything because it has to be very careful and I got diagnosed When I was in sixth grade and ever since I’ve dealt with cross contamination and it’s affected my health and it’s just not easy and nobody understands that. I hope he feels better. ❤️

I heard these exact words from my son’s GI doctor 🙁 my son is not ok, after 10 months of being diagnosed and total GF diet and no social life we are dealing with severe stomach issues, Anemia, Vitamin D deficiency, lactose and skin issues. The struggle is real. Why do they minimize this condition

I had to have multiple iron infusions in my 40s and they didn’t figure it out for years. I’m glad they’re getting it figured out for him now but I’m sorry he has to go. It’s hard.

Iron infusions are not fun. Been there had to get 4 during my last pregnancy. Being your own advocate is the most inprotant sending prayers I’ve had celiac for 15 years

I got diagnosed as an adult after multiple years dealing with Iron supplements, Vitamin D supplements and many questions that just didn’t have answer. Now I find myself constantly answering people’s questions about my disease. But happy to have an answer and feel good after so many years.

Everything is just so difficult! My son got diagnosed 3 months ago and Everything just feels so demanding. Seeing your child not being able to take part socially in the same way, constantly having to put in extra effort as a parent — both in the kitchen and mentally. Planning all food in advance for school just so he doesn’t feel left out. I mean, I’ve baked countless days in December just so he can have cookies and all the Christmas treats in his bag, in case classmates or teachers hand something out in class. Not being able to be spontaneous. I will probably learn to live with it, but never fully be at peace with it.
