18 months old… we understand that biting is “normal”— what about the kind of biting that doesn’t release?… like a boa constrictor or a snapping turtle?!!! How should that be managed?! How do you get them to unclench??

I've been at a loss with my 2 year old biting his 1 year old brother. he bites so hard it almost breaks skin and nothing has worked that I have tried. I just ordered a chewable necklace to try.

Thank you, Thank you , Thank you! thats what i need more, the "what i can do?" how we handle this? My child,8y/o pinch, scracht with nails, he doesnt mean to scratch, i feel he pressure with his fingers/nails and hurt whoever is near to him, sometimes bites, whatever its near, even tablet..especially when hes frustrated,but yes to me its like a release for him.

My 3 year old son (non-verbal and autistic) bites my shoulder when I'm carrying him or hugging me from behind when I'm sitting.But he is not upset. But now I understand better, he must be disregulated. I tell him "Ouch, it hurts" then I tickle him to make him laugh.
