@soheefit: Long before I became pregnant, I did a lot of hard work on my body image. Now, I fully internalize and believe the following truths: 🫶the things my body can do are far more important than my body shape 🫶my body size has no relation to my self-worth 🫶body image actually has nothing to do with how you actually look and so much more to do with how you’ve been influenced to perceive your body 🫶you can have worse body image in a thinner body than in a bigger body due to the point above 🫶the way my body looks is the least interesting thing about me (but it’s still fun to see my bump growing!) I am visibly bigger now at 19 weeks pregnant than I was before, and I will continue to grow over the remaining 4.5+ months of this journey. Don’t get me wrong: I haven’t loved every aspect of pregnancy, I can’t do everything I used to do before with ease, and there are still parts of my body I don’t love. Body neutrality, though, is about fostering an attitude of acceptance and respect towards your body - not about trying to actively like everything about your body all the time. This has been really refreshing for me, as it’s allowed me to make an observation (neutral or otherwise) and then move on with my day. I instead choose to focus on appreciating everything my body can do and marvel at the fact that that I’m actually growing a human inside me. The best I can do is to continue practicing healthy habits and let my body change however it will. 🥰 #BodyImage #Pregnancy

I think during pregnancy is the only times I’ve loved my body. Watch out for post partum because that comes for you HARD…

when i had body image issues, i found functional thinking so helpful, so i get this. "how great that my legs carry me where i need to go, how great that my butt makes it comfortable to sit down" becomes "how great that i'm my baby's first house! how incredible that my tummy's a 3d printer!" 😅

When I was struggling with my body changing in pregnancy I would look up what I was cooking up that week.. what do you mean I made her fingerprints this week? Or nails, or a beating heart? That’s awesome!

Save this and play it to yourself when you are post partum. You will need it on those days you are tired, especially in the first six weeks 💕

Honestly being pregnant was one of the few times in my life I didn’t feel any body image issues because it is acceptable to be round and getting bigger! But mostly because your body is doing something amazing. You’ve got this.
