@sikfankitchen: As the weather gets colder, it’s important to nourish our body ❤️One soup I like to make is this Chinese sweet soup called “tong sui” in Cantonese. Not only does it boost your immune system but it’s also great for glowy skin 💁♀️✨ These herbal ingredients are widely used in TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) and provide various health benefits. - Snow fongus is a vegan gelatin that moisturizes the lungs and nourishes the skin, stomach and kidneys. This is key for skin elasticity. - jujubes (red dates) promotes blood circulation and heals chronic anemia - Goji berries is a superfood rich in antioxidants. Great immune system booster - Rock sugar is more gentle than refined sugar. Soothes dry coughs and throat irritation. - Persimmon clears heat and moistens dryness Instructions: 1. Soak dried snow fungus in warm water for 25 mins until its’ rehydrated 2. Meanwhile, remove the seeds of the jujubes as they carry a lot of “hot” energy. Also known as “yeet hay” in Cantonese which can cause imbalance in your body. 3. Cut your persimmon into smaller pieces. You can also use apple. 4. Once the snow fungus is hydrated. Cut them into small pieces and remove the firm core. 5. Add the jujubes, snow fungus, persimmon, goji berries and rock sugar in a small pot and fill it up with water. 6. Cover it. Bring it to a boil then turn it down to low and simmer for 30 mins. 7. It’s ready when your snow fungus has soften and feels gelatinous. 8. Enjoy & stay cozy ❤️ #tongsui #chineseherbalsoups #chinesesweersoups #chinesesoup #TCM
