@lisaboccuzzi: The next time someone asks us when we’re having another kid I’m just gonna go ahead and tag them in the comments 🙃 #wlw #newmom #lgbtq #onlychild #eldestdaughter
I am an only child and I loved it! My parents were always very present with me growing up and we have a close relationship. I also have amazing friends who I love like siblings🫶🏼

Just make sure that you plan for your older years. As an only child myself it’s been difficult taking care of aging parents as well as my own family. It’s hard going it alone.

I think you’re being selfish. As an only child it is very lonely

It’s interesting to see everyone in the comments so focused on the child’s experience. Happy, relaxed parents = happy, relaxed children (not that kids are chill by any means). Parents knowing their capacity, limits and comfort level goes lengths in creating a positive environment for their children…whether there’s one or there are 5. Have another if YOU want to and feel like you feasibly can. What’s the point of having another if it’s too stressful? Parenting should be enjoyable! Your child will find their village. So many couples in our generation have one child so it’s not going to be as much of a novelty when our kids grow up.

We love having one!! It’s so expensive to live in the tri state area. But as an older mom… I do worry about him not having family😕once we are gone.

I’m an only child and my wife is one of two. We are trying for baby 3. They are just so much fun and we love being moms. 🥰 But we are blessed our health insurance covers IVF.

We are a two mom group and have one. It’s a lot physically and emotionally but we are able to give our little guy everything. We originally wanted four kids, but after going through a rough pregnancy, we love our triangle family.

100%! I don't get along with my brother, and that's okay. Bigger family doesn't mean better.

Love that for you!! We were on the fence, but decided to have a second daughter. Loveeee the dynamic of 2 girls, but it is harder to be active & give them both all of my attention. I think life will be really good once our youngest is more independent. My wife & I both had brothers and we aren’t close, but I’m hoping my girls are!

Siblings is definitely never a guarantee, my brothers have never gotten along and are such polar opposites in every respect. I think they both would have preferred to be only children 😅

If your daughter had half siblings through your donor (if you went that route) being connected that way is another way to have life-long sibling connections.

6 years in with the tiny human that completed our family and a couple of fur kiddos. We love giving her all of our resources and attention and she doesn’t want a sibling either. And yeah the whole city thing.

Can you talk about raising a baby in the city? Did you ever feel pressured to move to Long Island/suburbs? Pros and cons of city with baby?

It will be amazing for your bond. And in the city 1 child is so much easier!! The hard part will be for her in adulthood. She’s be both of your primary caregiver/ decision maker.
