I would have agreed with this statement before the earnings calls, but the earning calls for big tech showed huge revenue. So time will tell. It’s not like dot com bubble, those companies did not have revenue and the infra that was overbuilt was built on debt.

FramFab. It was a darling company in the dot com bubble era. They were a website / webservices coding company. They were gonna basically do bespoke Web programming for companies wanting to get into e-commerce. Problem was; It didn't materialise in time. And we are seeing how companies aren't really able to use the current gen to get value internally yet. It will be another 5 years before it's maturing.

the problem comes down to the fact that these are all picks and shovels plays and those are exactly the people who get rich in a gold rush. the ones that fail are the customer facing ai names, but as of yet, those do not exist. even meta and Google have trillion dollar market caps based on their existing business and literally thry had hundreds of billions of dollars of cash a few years ago to throw at GPUs. as of yet, the only thing happening in the AI space is chip manufacturing, design, and basic hardware (data center) build out. very different than companies renting cloud servers and building businesses that fail. that is the bubble that pops, not the companies building the hardware

I think once the roadway is paved, the cars will come. Im not too worried about it because most of it isn’t financed by non profitable companies. It will change healthcare, physics, math forever and everything we learn will continue to grow as fast as the Moore law stated.

Companies pay a salary to an individuals. If they can cut 10% of that labor bucket and send it to AI companies to provide better, faster outcomes to make the other 90% more efficient. There’s a market for consumer AI - but I believe the real revenue and value is going to be seen on the very large B2B usage.
