People don't get that unless you work for Boeing, Microsoft, Amazon, etc., you're very likely going to be closer to low income if you live in western WA. It's such a high COL!

Low income in Washington is different, my mom works full time and pays $2000 a month in rent and is considered low income too. It’s due to our high cost of living.

to everyone saying that’s not low income- the Seattle requirements for low income housing is under $44,000 so she absolutely qualifies and that’s just for one person imagine having 2 kids as well. You’re doing so good in a super high cost of living area.

I’m a nurse living in Vancouver, Wa as a single mom to 3 kids and I live paycheck to paycheck making roughly $90k a year. It’s insane. 😭 You’re doing amazing because I cannot imagine doing this in Seattle!

I’m confused. Min wage in Seattle is $19.97/hr. That’s $41,537 per year if you’re working full-time. Good news though, in Jan it goes up to $21.30 per hour, so that’ll put you at $44,304 as long as your employer doesn’t cut hours because high min wage doesn’t help anything because prices go up.
