When you say " I love you " it has a complete meaning. because " I " is PRESENT, it means YOU, it's YOURSELF while without I and only " love you " it feels like, you're just saying it just to respond, or just to have something to say without even meaning it. it's a complete thought and feeling for " I love you". it's deep.
