Was Carthage really just like any other empire? It seems much more like a colonial trade city state. The Carthaginians didn’t really have a large military so much as they would hire mercenaries.

Did the modern United States take any of this into account as well? I know the current Trump admin is against heavy integration from foreigners, but I’ve always believed that’s what made the U.S. great. The ability to integrate almost any culture or race and become an American. Also the fact for most of our history we have really integrated our alliances in a similar way and I don’t think the U.S. would have ever been a Super Power without its alliance system

How close do you think the Germans came to winning the battle of the Atlantic? It certainly made Churchill quite nervous.

To what extent did the historical emnity between Carthage and Greeks (in the context of southern Italy) have an effect? I sense the Greeks still weren't fans of Carthage from the previous conflicts on Sicily. Great to see you back btw!

We LOVE the ancient history content! I’m waiting for a whole series on the Marius vs Sulla wars, the Gracchi Brothers, the run-up to Caesar and the fall of the Republic.
