You really only live once, so dont forget to fill your life with the things that bring you peace and joy. Ive been thinking about this a lot lately. Maybe its just me, but it feels like everyone is constantly trying to maximise every second of their day. Be more productive. Earn more. Learn more. Build something. Achieve the next milestone. Somewhere along the way, I started feeling like I was racing against a deadline that didnt even exist. A timeline I created for myself. No matter how much I get done, theres always this little voice telling me I could be doing more, that I’m somehow falling behind. Maybe thats why baking has become so important to me? Whether Im following a recipe I found online or just throwing ingredients together and seeing what happens, Ive always loved the process. When Im baking, my mind finally goes quiet. Im not thinking about what I should be doing next or comparing myself to anyone else. Im just… there… lol! Measuring flour, whisking eggs and sugar, waiting for the smell of vanilla & butter to fill the kitchen. It reminds me that life isnt meant to be rushed through. In a world that moves so quickly, I think its important to have something that keeps you grounded🧘 Something that brings you back to the present💝 Something that isnt about being the best or getting ahead, but simply because it makes you happy:3 Im slowly learning that not every moment has to be productive to be meaningful. Sometimes, the moments that look the least “productive” are the ones that make life feel the fullest. The little things like baking fresh batch of cookies, a quiet afternoon, a cup of coffee, the satisfaction of making something with your own hands, those are the moments that deserve just as much space in our lives!! Maybe thats what gratitude really is. Slowing down long enough to notice that a simple, ordinary moment can be enough. I think gratitude grows when we take the time to notice them<3
