@pammie823_reads: I cannot stop thinking about The Madness of Miss Grey. Julia Bennet is out here taking some of the biggest swings in historical romance—an asylum setting, a doctor–patient dynamic, and character work that absolutely delivers. Helen and Will flip every expected power dynamic, and the social commentary hits hard in 2025 when women’s autonomy is under real threat again. If you want dark Victorian romance, high-stakes historical fiction, and a story that actually has something to say, add this to your TBR immediately. Five stars. #romancebookrecs #historicalromance #gothicromance #historicalromancebooks #slowburnromance
You’re selling me. Romance has been boring me lately, but this sounds really interesting.

I was shocked to see not a single HR in the GR Choice Awards. I don't know what modern Romance readers want, but omg, they are missing out on the beauty and wonder of HR. when I see ppl complain the book Bridgerton men are toxic, I laugh. they could never handle Judith Mcnaught, Anne Stuart, Rosemary Rogers, etc.

Historical romance is where it’s at,I’ve seen people complain about a lack of yearning in romance lately - read HR! i absolutely love Julia bennet. I’d also recommend Alice coldbreath, Anne Mallory, Cecilia grant ( the list goes on, but Alice clothbreath I especially love). I loved this book, I particularly enjoy how she navigates the power dynamic between Helen and Carter, as they try and decide if they can trust each other or not.
