I want to keep it real and remind people to stay on top of mole checks, advocate for yourself and wear your sunscreen (which btw anyone who knows me knows I am CRAZY about sun safety - I’m just a freckly/ moley girl). The reason this is low risk is BECAUSE I caught it so early and have been doing regular mole checks since high school! Don’t worry about me- as long as I keep on top of it, I’m going to be fine! And the plastic surgeons office rush squeezed me in for Tuesday, so I’m super grateful 🙏🏻 Give yourself a good look over this weekend for me and keep the ABCDE signs of an abnormal mole in mind. A – Asymmetry     •    One half of the mole doesn’t match the other half in shape, color, or thickness. B – Border     •    The edges look irregular, ragged, blurred, or notched rather than smooth and even. C – Color     •    The mole has multiple colors (brown, black, tan, red, white, blue) or an uneven distribution of color. D – Diameter     •    Larger than 6 mm (about the size of a pencil eraser). Note: Some melanomas can be smaller, so size alone isn’t enough to judge. E – Evolving     •    Any change in size, shape, elevation, color, or symptoms such as bleeding, itching, or crusting is concerning. #skincancer #melanoma #sunscreen #mole #melanomaawareness
