its called cutting in and never use water based paints on woodwork,its got no toughness about it.
couple of knocks with the hover and it will chip away.

don't get all the hate on taping ...we spay so it's essential but even so...I takes a few minutes max to mask the skirts on a room so why wouldn't you 🤷

cut the walls in first then the skirting you'll get a super sharp line . no need for tape 👍

There’s a lot of skill in cutting in free hand also there is some skill In this method, which ever method you use for the better finish doesn’t matter as long as The customer is happy

Yep that’s exactly how you do it. It will get sharp line definitely. I usually do wood work last but when walls are dark colour and are multiple room i do same as well. Good job mate.

I like doing that iff I spray finish all ceilings and woodwork first as I save a lot of time I don't mind tapping after
