I ask this as someone who is extremely positive. Maybe it is cultural difference but why would you even ask someone how they are doing if u don't really wanna know the answer? Sometimes people just need to vent and if u asked then u should listen and not minimise their feelings

I find if I try to make a response overly negative, they'll push back with something claiming it's not that bad. Like why have birthday parties for kids, they won't remember them. Then they'll find a reason why I'm wrong 😁
