Are you serious? Toddlers wander off, it happens, and sometimes accidents occur in a matter of seconds. This is clearly a tragic situation, and I can’t imagine how devastated these parents already feel. They’re going to carry this for the rest of their lives. I don’t understand why so much blame is being placed on the father when he wasn’t outside with the child. From what it sounds like, the mother was inside with the toddler and didn’t realize she had gotten out. It seems unfair to single one parent out when this appears to be a heartbreaking accident. With that being said, I also question what the driver was doing. Drivers should always be alert to their surroundings, especially in areas where children might be present. Not noticing a toddler near the road is deeply concerning, and there’s no excuse for distracted driving in a situation like this.
