I do this and it does not change the whining literally at all. In fact I think my 3 year old gets more upset that “I hear” him and am not doing anything about it

I stuck with “I cannot understand you when you’re whining, tell me again in your normal voice” both my 8 y/o and almost 3 y/o have responded really well to that. It essentially lets them know their need/want can be expressed but it’s all about the tone in which they say it.

As a mom of a two year old and a 3 month old. My nervous system is so shot that I just disassociate. My soul leaves my body and I just stand there and stare at the ceiling. I can’t show up for them because I’m so burnt out. If I knew being a mom was so demanding of your energy and time I would not have done this.
