I’m going to my local LGS alone!! My top tips are to bring a little snack and water, book or podcast for downtime in case you finish rounds early but I’m sure you’ll have fun! Sending good energy!! The kits look so cool

My sweet spot for prereleases is to 1) memorize the 5/10 archetypes that come out each set e.g. izzet draw 2, azorius fliers, etc. 2) search for the signpost uncommons for the set, know what they are for each archetype. 3) go to any draft tier list (i use draftsim) and review the top cards in the set. You dont need to memorize these, just be familiar with any bomb rares that you might see

If it’s a good LGS it will be a blast. I have one great LGS and one with a meh community. The great LGS has less product but events are a blast. Active and friendly discord. Helpful community. The other place the community is craaaap. If it’s a good LGS go have so much fun and remember B.R.E.A.D. For sealed deck building.

Prerelease is the most chill lgs event there is. People are genuinely excited to see new cards and try out new mechanics. Minimal competitiveness, others who only come out on prerelease. It's so good.
