For those who's commenting that the Philippines is the most corrupt in the world, do your research. While corruption is a problem here—the Philippines is not #1 most corrupt in the world or in Southeast Asia, according to Transparency International’s 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index. We scored 33/100 and ranked 114th out of 180 countries. Globally, the worst-rated countries (lowest scores) are South Sudan (8/100), Somalia (9/100), Venezuela (10/100), and Syria (12/100). In Southeast Asia, Myanmar has the lowest CPI score (16/100) — significantly worse than the Philippines. So yeah, again—corruption is a big problem here, but saying we’re the worst, most, or number 1 isn’t backed by the data. 🤍
