i mean.. Ford knows there's an issue with the 2011-2017 explorers with exhaust leaking into the cabin from the tailgate. they even had a program to fix affected vehicles until 2022. we bought one back in April, had a motor replacement 30 days from purchase (high pressure fuel pump gasket blew) contacted Ford, they want almost $1k to diagnose and fix a known issue that could cause major health issues that ford has fixed before for free simply bc the previous owner didn't have the repair done. absolutely ridiculous. currently trying to escalate our case to Ford's safety office but it's nearly impossible when every call to them goes to a 3rs party call center and you can't get anything escalated.
