I am not a fan of hugs. I must be the opposite - hyper sensitive?

Is it common for children with proprioceptive issues to also be quite clumsy/uncoordinated?

Is another associative trait for this clumsiness and walking into things? And the need to trail walls and railings with a hand?

What is the opposite of huggy ? My 8yr old Autistic child is completely the opposite hates hugs kisses or and kind of soft affection even compliments she will tell me to be quiet or go away , she was fine as a baby but changed around 2yrs old x

There’s a child in my class who I am 90% sure is autistic. She asks for a hug at least once an hour. I don’t mind the hugs, but I want her to have other ways of filling this need. She’s 6 yrs old. Any ideas?

we have prop seeking behaviour but its more "crashy" less huggy 😂 we use heavy work like lots of pull push games big stretching activities like helping clean windows or sometimes I pretend the wall is leaning and i need help pushing it back upright

Hi there lovely, I’d like to write to my head of inclusion to get some resources to help the kids in my class - do you have the details of a research article I can quote?

As an autistic adult …. Why are we explaining hugs and entering personal space ….. this makes me feel I’m not able to feel like others by wanting to hug my children …. I’m not hypo nothing ….. we do hug those we feel safe with and now I feel I’m over the top ??? I’m floaty …. Wow so I’m meant to fit it; but if I hug I don’t know my space and objects UNCOMFORTABLE IS YOUR POST not the hug

My daughter always hug means teachers. This is the only explanation I’ve ever heard. Thank you so much for sharing
