To my understanding after reading the Death and Life of The Great lakes the carps were introduced to the eco system to tey and get rid of the zebra Mussles that enter our eco system via cargo ships when the US opened the "5th Sea" in the 1960s-70s, not to clean aquaculture farms. the government responds was neglectful until it got in the way of capitalism. I dont see the spin of Carps cleaning these aquaculture farms, even if they literally eat everything the don't clean the water.

People should learn to eat bony fish. If they can deal with eating blue crabs they can eat bony fish. I don’t even bother with crab but I’ll pick at fish. Though I guess you can’t choke on crab 🤔

The lake in my neighborhood was overrun by Carp, our lake has been destroyed 😭 now the carp ate every other species in the lake, the carp are dying. They came in through the ditches and sewers. We’re 10 minutes from the Mississippi River. It breaks my heart because I love and appreciate water life, I loved living on a lake

The issue with that line of questioning is there isn't a solution that doesn't involve human rights violations. The issue isn't that humans are invasive, it's that we aren't environmentally conscious.

international travel has altered our environment so much with invasive species. Our ecosystems are already collapsing bc of it. we just need time for nature and evolution to even the playing field again
