I was adopted into a family who hated me, told me I destroyed their marriage and their lives. They were very religious and I wanted to wear pants and have friends and they caught me smoking pot. They didn’t know how to love a foster child. Instead of seeing a broken rejected child who needed to be loved and nurtured they saw the devil and treated me as such. I know EXACTLY what he’s saying. I fantasized about running away I may have even fantasized about killing just to be free but I didn’t have that in me.

I came up through the system. People foster for the money. The children are bounced around from home to home & it’s a horrible launch to life. My adoptive mother told me they only got me because the one they wanted was already taken. This is the reality for homeless children.
