I feel like half the fun is peeling the pomegranate and eating it super slowly… when I was a kid eating a pomegranate was an EVENT but I absolutely loved dressing in my big stained pomegranate shirt and spending 30 min eating it

If break the sections apart and soak in ice water for a few minutes it’ll cause the membranes to constrict and the arils will fall out easier. And then you’ll have nice crisp cold arils to eat ☺️and any excess membranes will just float to the top

If you put your hand on the top of the pomegranate where you’ve cut it and open and then hold it from underneath and smack the bottom of it. It’s a lot less messy and you’re not gonna hit your fingers.

I like to combine both methods, and do it by piece, so like the other pieces are soaking while I wack the piece

This is hiw I do it, and it literally takes 1-2 minutes and no mess... cut it in half horizontally. you'll be able to see the cross section where the membranes kind of form like a star/snowflake kind of shape... take yor knife and align it with one of these membranes vertically and cut through the skin... do that to all of the membranes and you'll be able to separate each half in kind of the way the chocolate oranges fall apart. hope that helps, I highly recommend you try it, it makes eating pomegranate more enjoyable, and less of a task.
