The most difficult journey we have ever had to face. 💔😭 This video holds memories of the 13 days of struggles we went through to bring Mum’s body back home with us from Pakistan. As heartbreaking as those days were, there was also a sense of relief when we finally managed to fulfil Mum’s wish — to come back home. Throughout everything, all six of us stayed together, just as Mum would have wanted. At every stage, I was constantly checking and making sure Mum’s body was on the right plane and that everything was going as it should. Just a small note because after my last video, I saw some of you thought Mum wasn’t buried until 13 days after she passed away. The 13 days were actually the time we spent in Pakistan trying to complete all the paperwork to bring Mum home. Mum passed away on 13 December 2024, and we arrived back in the UK on 29 December 2024. The funeral care team took Mum into their care as soon as we landed and began arranging everything. We wanted Mum to be buried in the same graveyard as Dad, and after trying to get an earlier date, 20 January 2025 was the earliest funeral date available due to other funerals taking place. Many of you also asked how much it cost to bring Mum home. It cost us £6,500. The first company quoted us £10,500, so we went with the second company straight away because we didn’t want to delay bringing Mum home. The payment and transportation arrangements were completed, but registering Mum’s death certificate in Pakistan was what caused the biggest delay. Some people questioned why we were spending so much money to bring Mum’s body back, and some said bury the person where they die. But as her children, we could never have left our Mum on the other side of the world. Mum was coming home with us, no matter what it cost. That was final. ❤️ I know some of you may judge this video — our clothes, shoes, luggage, or wonder why we aren’t crying on camera. Honestly, I don’t care, because you weren’t there. You didn’t see us crying on the same plane while knowing Mum’s body was underneath us in the cargo. You didn’t see us running from city to city, dealing with paperwork and rejection after rejection of getting the death certificate registered while grieving the loss of our Mum. We were exhausted, unwell and heartbroken, but we had one thing in mind — bringing Mum home. We didn’t buy new clothes for traveling. As soon as the death certificate was registered and issued, we quickly wore anything from our suitcases, ran for the hospital where Mum’s body was getting prepared for transport then ran for the airport. We cried all the journey back in the planes, you only know if you go through it, which I don’t wish upon anyone. We have lost so much, and nothing feels the same anymore. 💔 Even our own home feels empty. There are six of us siblings here, but without Mum, it just doesn’t feel like home. We brought Mum home, just as she would have wanted. And although those 13 days were some of the hardest days of our lives, we stayed together and got through them together. ❤️‍🩹💔 Mum died in Pakistan, but she came home. And that is all that mattered to us. ❤️
