Every night, the parents ate dinner at a small restaurant just 50 meters away from the apartment, checking on their kids every 20–30 minutes. On May 3rd, everything seemed normal. At 9,05 PM, Madeleine was asleep in her bed. At 9,30 PM, still sleeping. But at 10,00 PM, she was gone. The window was open. Her blanket was on the floor. And there were no signs of forced entry. Police searched everywhere , beaches, streets, buildings. Over 500 people were questioned. Nothing. A witness reported seeing a man carrying a sleeping child that night, but they never identified who he was. For 17 years, the case has stayed open. Tips came in from all over the world , sightings in airports, stores, even other countries , but none were confirmed. In 2020, investigators announced they had a new suspect, but the case is still unsolved, and Madeleine has never been found.
